The School of Medicine's dynamic growth is reflected in the fact that nearly half of the PhDs awarded since 1950 have been completed in the past 10 years. Graduate students typically take 5.5 years to complete their doctorate. Almost all of our graduates go on to postdoctoral training before assuming permanent positions in academia, industry and the public sector.

See the Alumni Profiles page for a list of our PhD graduates since 2000 and links to their electronic theses.

We are always interested in news about our alumni. No matter when you completed your PhD at the School of Medicine please use the Alumni Update Information page to let us know how you are doing and what you are working on these days. You can also email us at or call us at (412)648-8957.
