Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP): Virtual Information Sessions
Are you an undergraduate sophomore or junior interested in gaining hands-on biomedical research experience? Join us for a virtual session to learn about the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. SURP is an intensive 10-week summer program (May 17 - July 23, 2027) that immerses undergraduates in hypothesis-driven laboratory research with a faculty mentor and helps them decide whether a PhD in the biological and biomedical sciences is right for them.
We'll cover the program structure, eligibility, stipend, housing and travel support, and tips for preparing a strong application. There will also be time for Q&A, so bring your questions!
This is a great session for any undergraduate considering SURP, whether you're just starting to explore research or getting ready to apply. The 2027 application opens November 1, 2026 and closes February 15, 2027.
